Another Great 4th!

We did it again!
Once again our neighborhood pulled together and put on a great party.

This all started years ago, when an industrious neighbor, Phyllis Robison, organized community events for Landing 2. Phyllis, and her next door neighbor Sharla Sharpnik, put on an amazing 4th of July party for years, as well as the End of the School Year Ice Cream Social and the Halloween Party. I'll never forget seeing her walk around in a pumpkin costume, leading everyone with her trusty megaphone.

When Tim and I moved moved here in 1994, we were amazed by all of the wonderful activities and community spirit of this special neighborhood. Phyllis was looking for a break from her years of organizing, so Suzanne Kiley and I volunteered to carry the torch. 14 years later, this incredible celebration is stronger than ever due to the continued participation of the people who live here.

Every year, I am so inspired by my neighbors. Everyone pitches in, enjoys old friends and welcomes new ones. We are all so lucky to live here and I hope that we never lose the community connection that everyone has worked so hard to preserve.

Thank you ALL for another great year

Street Dance Food Fiesta!

This year, our dinner will be provided by Tacos Cisneros!

Israel and Anna will be grilling up their authentic street tacos. Pollo and Carne Asada  (that's chicken and steak for you gringos...)

There'll be freshly made quesadillas hot off the grill
and Caesar salad too. Get there early for chips, salsa and guacamole before dinner. Water and lemonade will be provided.

We will have our neighborhood Dessert Potluck table again this year so please remember your goodies to share!

Just Desserts?

If you're making your food plans for the 4th, please include some treats for the Cake Walk and the Dessert Potluck at dinner.

For the Cake Walk: Brownies, cupcakes, cookies, etc. It's all good. Please separate them into prize-sized plates (4-6 pieces)  so that we can have lots of winners. Either home made or store bought is fine. Deliver them to Michele Boothroyd at 12 Laurelglen on Sunday July 3rd or the morning of the 4th.

For the Dessert Potluck: Love thy neighbor! Bring your favorite sweet treats to share. We'd like to have as many selections as possible. Just bring them with you to the Street Dance.

Thanks!

Reserve Your Golf Cart!

If you'd like to rent a golf cart for the 4th of July, here is your info....

Fill out your address and phone numbers  and  email or fax it back. The credit card information is due a day prior to the rental.

From the golf cart company: "The price has not changed from last year but we are implementing one new procedure. One person from each household MUST be present at the time of delivery. The only reason why we must insist on this is due to the issues we've had in the past about damages. "
